LIVING ABROAD – How to see Foreign settlements in Vedic Astrology
Living abroad is one of the most frequent asked topics in my practice as a Vedic astrologer and coach. There are charts and positions of planets that shows you whether you will live abroad or you will prefer to live in your native country, In this article, I will show you one of the most often positions for foreign settlements, however, if you prefer to watch the video from my Youtube channel, you can click below :
Here are some of the positions :
- When the Lord of your Ascendant (1st house in your chart) is placed in the 12th house – this is a very strong sign that you will need to go abroad in your life
- When the Lord of your 4th house, which is related to your home, homeland, is placed in the 12th house – this is strong indication for foreign settlement,too
- When the Lord of the 4th house is in the 3rd house, which is 12 places away – this is strong signification for living abroad or travelling a lot
- When you are in a dasha (planetary period) of a planet that is placed in the 12th house, you will most probably go abroad or you will need to isolate yourself from the world
- When your destiny point also known as Bhrigu Bindu is in the 12th house
These are positions that are related to the 12th house in astrology, which shows distant places, foreign cultures, other dimensions, and isolations and it refers to the zodiac sign Pisces, which is the natural 12th zodiac sign. So if you have planets in Pisces, this for sure can bring foreign settlement, too

Of course, there are some other options, for example :
- When the Lord of the 5th and/or 7th house is in the 12th house – you may have a foreign love affair, so you can go abroad
- When the Lord of the 5th and/or 9th house is in the 12th house – you may go abroad for studying
- When the Lord of the 10th and/or 11th house is in the 12th house, you may work abroad
- When you have planets in the 3rd,9th or 12th house – this can signify travelling
You should always pay attention to Rahu and Ketu and the dasha and the subdasha period
- If you have Rahu and/or Ketu in the axis of the 4th-10th house – this will lead to foreign settlement for sure. For example, you have Ketu in the 4th house and Rahu in the 10th house or vice versa
- If you are in a dasha of a planet, which subdasha planet is 12 places away from the dasha planet. For example, you are in the Venus -Ketu (dasha and subdasha ) period – Venus is in the 10th house and Ketu is in the 9th house. So Ketu is 12 places away from Venus – the main dasha planet – this signifies possible foreign settlement
